The Deluxe Villa suits guests who prefer a garden setting with the beach only metres away. The 75 sqm open-plan layout combines sleeping and sitting space beneath a vaulted ceiling, with large windows looking towards the tropical garden. Outside, there is a private garden sitting area, while the bathroom includes separate indoor and outdoor showers. It is a practical choice for couples or families who want greenery around their villa without being far from the sand.
The Beach Villa with Pool is designed for guests who want to stay directly beside the sand. Its 116 sqm layout includes a private plunge pool, pool terrace and sitting area, with direct access to the beach. Full-length glass doors bring natural light into the villa, while the open-air bathroom has a deep soaking bathtub, covered shower and outdoor rain shower. It works well for couples or small families who want both a private pool and easy beach access.
At 80 sqm, the Water Bungalow with Pool is the more compact of the resort’s private-pool overwater options. It has a private sundeck with a pool, daybed and sun loungers, along with direct access to the Indian Ocean. Large windows keep the water in view from inside, where there is also a sitting area and a bathroom with a deep soaking bathtub. It suits couples and small families who want an overwater stay with their own pool but do not need the larger Water Villa layout.
Choose the Water Villa when direct lagoon access matters more than having a private pool. The 112 sqm overwater layout has floor-to-ceiling glass, an indoor sitting area and a private deck with a daybed and sun loungers. Steps lead directly into the lagoon, while the bathroom looks towards the water and includes a freestanding deep soaking bathtub, separate shower and double vanities. It gives couples and small families more indoor and outdoor space than the Water Bungalow.
Interconnecting accommodation makes the Two Bedroom Deluxe Villa a practical option for families and friends travelling together. The 150 sqm layout combines two villas, providing two king-size bedrooms, two bathrooms and separate outdoor garden sitting areas. Large windows look towards the tropical greenery, and each bathroom has indoor and outdoor showers. The beach is only metres away, giving larger groups shared accommodation without putting everyone in one sleeping area.
This garden-set villa gives guests their own pool while keeping the beach nearby. The 110 sqm Deluxe Villa with Pool has a large private pool, partly shaded terrace, sun loungers and an outdoor poolside rain shower. Inside, the bedroom and living area are arranged over a split-level open-plan space beneath a vaulted ceiling. It suits couples and families who prefer a private garden setting rather than staying directly on the beach or over the water.
The 175 sqm Pool Villa offers more outdoor space and privacy within a tropical garden setting just steps from the beach. Its large private pool is joined by a gazebo, sun deck, private courtyard and outdoor dining area. Inside, the split-level layout includes open-plan living space, while the open-air bathroom has a large soaking bathtub, separate shower and double vanities. Dedicated butler service is included, making this a strong choice for guests who want extra space and more personalised service.
The Water Villa with Pool combines the larger 112 sqm overwater layout with a private infinity plunge pool. Its terrace has a daybed and sun loungers, with steps leading directly into the lagoon. Large windows bring panoramic ocean views into the indoor sitting area, while the bathroom includes lagoon views, a freestanding deep soaking bathtub, separate shower and double vanity. It gives couples and small families more space than the Water Bungalow with Pool while keeping both private-pool and lagoon access.
The 270 sqm Water Suite is the resort’s largest accommodation and sits at the end of a long jetty, away from the other villas. A gated entrance opens onto a split-level terrace with an oversized infinity lap pool, gazebo, outdoor lounge and dining areas. Steps lead down towards the lagoon, and there is also an outdoor rain shower.
Sora is an overwater Japanese restaurant serving dinner above the lagoon. Guests can order from the à la carte menu or choose an Omakase experience, where the chef decides the courses. The cooking has Japanese roots with Peruvian and Maldivian influences, alongside sushi, sashimi and robata-style dishes.
Sand serves dinner directly beside the beach, with tables on open-air decks and in private cabanas. Seafood is a key part of the menu, alongside international dishes, grilled choices and local flavours. A children’s menu is also available.
Turquoise is a beachside restaurant serving from midday through to dinner. Its international menu brings together Mediterranean, Asian and Western dishes, including seafood, salads and grilled options.
Etesian focuses on European and Mediterranean cooking through a chef-curated set menu. Its menus draw particularly on Italian and wider Mediterranean influences, supported by an extensive walk-in wine cellar.
Vela is the resort’s international buffet restaurant and serves both breakfast and dinner. Live cooking stations provide made-to-order dishes, while themed evenings bring different menus into the dinner service.
Private Dining can be arranged away from the resort’s main restaurants, including in a private cabana, beside the water or in the guest’s villa. Menus can be planned with the chef, allowing the meal to be adapted to the occasion.
Velassaru Indulgence gives guests more freedom to dine around the resort, with lunch and dinner available across selected restaurants and bars. The plan also includes soft drinks, canned juices, water, tea and coffee, alongside selected house beers, wines and spirits. Complimentary snorkelling equipment and two hours of ocean-kayak use each day are included too. A minimum three-night stay applies.
Fen Bar sits at the heart of the island and serves drinks and light bites from late morning until midnight. The drinks list includes cocktails, wines, spirits and coolers, with smaller dishes available alongside them.
Chill Bar sits above the lagoon and is open from midday until early evening. Cocktails, wines, spirits and beers are served alongside tapas, sharing plates and other light bites.
LIME Wellbeing is the resort’s overwater spa, with treatment spaces positioned above the lagoon and a hydro infinity pool overlooking the water. The treatment programme covers massages, body scrubs, wraps, facials, couples’ rituals and hand and foot care.
Night Snorkelling explores the reef after dark, when different marine species become active. Guests may encounter crabs, lobsters, starfish, lionfish and other nocturnal reef life depending on conditions.
Soul Of The Ocean is one of Niva Velassaru’s signature couples’ treatments. The ritual combines rose exfoliation, massage and advanced facial rejuvenation in the resort’s overwater spa setting.
Velassaru Ultimate Indulgence is a couples’ ritual using Aromatherapy Associates oils. It starts with dry body brushing and exfoliation before moving into massage and facial therapy.
Starlight Night Spa moves the spa experience into the evening, with treatments taken outdoors beneath the night sky. Guests can choose from suitable body treatments or facials from the spa menu.
Memories of Maldives is a 150-minute couples’ treatment based around Maldivian wellness traditions. It begins with an ocean body scrub, followed by a full-body massage using traditional wooden tools and virgin coconut oil.
The Signature Treatments collection includes Soul Of The Ocean, Velassaru Ultimate Indulgence, Tranquil Transformation – Solo Ritual and Signature Massage.
The massage collection covers several different styles rather than one standard treatment. Official choices include Relax and Sleep, Recharge, Signature Massage, Therapeutic Massage, Hot Stone & Trigger Point Massage and ELEMIS Expert™ Peaceful Pregnancy Massage.
Relax and Sleep uses Aromatherapy Associates oils alongside breathing and a full-body massage. Treatment areas include the back, scalp, face, arms, legs and feet.
Recharge is a personalised Balinese-inspired massage using light to medium pressure and a choice of aromatic oils. Flowing massage movements are used throughout the treatment.
The Body Treatments menu includes Rose Indulgence – Body Scrub & Wrap, Sun Soother – Body Wrap, Revive and Tone – Body Scrub & Wrap, Cleansing Salt Scrub & Frangipani Body Wrap and Cleansing Salt Scrub.

The Fitness Centre has advanced Kinesis equipment and supports strength, endurance and higher-intensity exercise. Trainers are available to guide guests during their workouts.

The resort’s swimming pool sits close to the main island facilities and provides an alternative to entering the lagoon. The official resort map also notes that there is no lifeguard on duty.
Guests can snorkel around the lagoon and house reef directly from recommended entry and exit points. The official snorkelling map identifies areas suitable for snorkelling as well as places affected by shallow water, current or boat traffic.
Adventure Snorkelling takes guests beyond a simple self-guided swim, with guided reef exploration and the chance to learn more about coral and tropical marine life.
Marine Life Voyage is a guided open-ocean snorkelling trip with opportunities to see nurse sharks, rays, reef fish and other marine life in their natural environment.
Ocean Exploration combines a boat journey in search of dolphins with snorkelling around a turtle reef. Guests have opportunities to see dolphins from the boat and green or hawksbill turtles while snorkelling, depending on wildlife and sea conditions.
Dolphin Discovery takes guests out by boat in search of wild dolphins around the surrounding waters. As this is a natural wildlife experience, sightings vary according to conditions.
IMMERSION Dive Centre is the resort’s PADI diving base and supports both beginners and certified divers. Courses and guided dives range from first-time lagoon sessions to deeper, wreck and reef diving.
Fun Dives are for certified divers and cover several nearby sites. Morning double dives can visit Vaadhoo Channel, while other options include Bolifushi wreck, Velassaru Caves, Dream Thila, Embudu Canyon and Maniyafaru.
Night Diving takes qualified divers onto local reef sites after sunset. Torchlight can reveal nocturnal reef species, soft corals and marine life that may be less active during the day.
The Open Water Diver Course gives beginners the chance to work towards PADI Open Water certification. The programme combines theory, confined-water training and open-water dives.
Discover Scuba Diving is a two-hour introduction for first-time divers, led by a certified PADI instructor in the lagoon.
Wind Sports includes windsurfing, kitesurfing, catamaran sailing and parasailing. These activities cover both skills-based sailing and board sports as well as a higher viewpoint over the surrounding water.
Wave sports covers the gentler side of the lagoon programme, including stand-up paddleboarding, kayaking and glass-bottom kayaking.
Guests looking for something faster can choose from motorised and tow-based activities such as water-skiing, wakeboarding, kneeboarding, tubing, jet skiing, Seabob and flyboarding.
Big Game Fishing takes guests into deeper water for offshore fishing. The resort’s experience programme highlights species including wahoo, sailfish and other large game fish.
Traditional Sunset Fishing centres on Maldivian handline fishing around sunset. The experience introduces guests to local fishing methods, with a chef able to prepare a suitable catch back at the resort.
Private Boat Hire can be booked by the hour, half day or full day. Guests can shape the journey around snorkelling, cruising, island hopping or private fishing.
The Sunset Cruise takes place aboard a traditional Maldivian Dhoni, with Champagne and canapés served during the journey.
Renewal of Vows gives couples the option to mark their relationship on the island. The experience takes place by the water and forms part of Niva Velassaru’s dedicated Romance collection.
Morning Lagoon Cruise runs four mornings per week aboard a traditional Maldivian Dhoni and is offered on a complimentary basis.
Cinema Under The Stars is a weekly outdoor film event held in Fen Bar’s garden or on the beachfront.

Niva Velassaru Maldives is in South Malé Atoll, 25 minutes by speedboat from Malé International Airport. Speedboat transfers from Malé International Airport are arranged by the resort and operate several times throughout the day. On arrival, guests are escorted from the airport to the waiting speedboat. Flight details should be provided at least five days before arrival so the transfer can be organised.
