KITESURFING is one of the resort’s wind-powered water sports, combining a kite with a board on the water. It gives experienced and active guests another option beyond sailing and windsurfing.
The resort has a five-star PADI diving centre and more than 50 dive sites nearby, including Kuda Rah Thila. Courses and guided dives are available for different experience levels, from first-time divers to certified guests.

SNORKELLING provides an easier way to explore the lagoon and surrounding reefs without scuba equipment. Guests can use snorkelling equipment, join scheduled house-reef trips or travel farther out to snorkel around remote sandbanks.
STAND UP PADDLEBOARDING offers a slower way to spend time on the lagoon. Guests stand on a board and paddle across the water, making it a different option from the resort’s motorised sports.
FLYBOARDING & HOVERBOARDING are among the resort’s more energetic water sports. Both use powered equipment to lift riders above the water, offering something very different from kayaking or paddleboarding.
WATERSKIING OR WAKEBOARDING gives guests two tow-based ways to get out on the water. Waterskiing uses separate skis, while wakeboarding uses a single board.
WINDSURFING combines a board and sail, making use of the wind rather than a motor. It offers a more active alternative to Topcat sailing while still keeping the focus on wind-powered sport.
TOPCAT SAILING gives guests another way to spend time on the lagoon using a small sailing catamaran. It sits apart from the resort’s motorised water sports and puts the emphasis on sailing instead.
Morning and sunset fishing provide another way to spend time beyond the lagoon. Guests head out by boat into the waters around South Ari Atoll, with the resort also highlighting a catch-and-cook element as part of the experience.
WANDERLUST LIBRARY provides a quiet place for reading on the island. It offers a simple alternative to the resort’s organised activities and sports.
CORAL ADOPTION gives guests a practical way to take part in the resort’s conservation work. Weekly coral-planting workshops support reef restoration around the island.
PLAY welcomes children aged 3 to 11 and combines indoor creative spaces with outdoor areas. Facilities include an arts and crafts space, library, toddler’s area, mini kitchen, lawn and a dedicated children’s swimming pool.
LUX* ME FITNESS CENTER is open from early morning until evening and uses TechnoGym equipment. Guests can train independently or book personal training, while the wider fitness programme includes Pilates, functional training, core workouts and circuit training.
Swimming facilities are spread across different parts of the resort. Senses sits beside an infinity pool by the sea, VELI BAR is next to another swimming pool overlooking the lagoon, and PLAY has a dedicated children’s swimming pool.
JUNKART STUDIO is an on-island creative space linked to LUX*’s upcycling concept, which turns discarded materials into art, crafts and useful objects.
LUX* South Ari Atoll is on Dhidhoofinolhu in South Ari Atoll, Maldives. Guests arriving at Velana International Airport are met by the resort team and assisted to the LUX* Lounge before continuing by seaplane.The 25-minute seaplane flight from Velana International Airport makes the island straightforward to reach while placing guests close to the South Ari Marine Protected Area and more than 50 dive sites.
Transfer details: 25-minute seaplane from Malé. Speedboat access may take 3-4 hours and is not recommended by the resort.
