The Overwater Villa suits couples who want direct lagoon access without adding a private pool. The interior uses warm wood, high ceilings and natural finishes, with large windows keeping the water in view.
The Beach Villa with Plunge Pool is designed for guests who prefer staying on the island with the sand just outside. It works well for couples and can also accommodate one child, with light interiors, natural materials and a layout that keeps indoor and outdoor spaces closely connected.
The Overwater Villa with Pool is aimed at couples who want the lagoon setting of the standard Overwater Villa with the added benefit of their own pool. Large windows bring the water into view from inside, while natural finishes keep the room simple and uncluttered.
With more indoor and outdoor space than the Beach Villa with Plunge Pool, the Beach Pool Villa works particularly well for couples travelling with children. A separate relaxation area has two day beds, which can also be used as sleeping space for younger guests.
The Overwater Deluxe Pool Villa gives couples or two adults travelling with a child more living space than the smaller overwater categories. Alongside the bedroom, there is a separate reading room and walk-in wardrobe, which makes the layout feel less like a single open-plan room.
The One Bedroom Beach Pool Residence suits couples or families who want considerably more living space while remaining close to the beach. It includes a separate living area, walk-in wardrobe and pantry kitchen, giving the residence a more practical layout for longer stays.
The One Bedroom Deluxe Beach Pool Residence places its private pool on the beachfront, making the outdoor area the main difference from the One Bedroom Beach Pool Residence. It works well for couples or families who want their pool, terrace and beach all on the same side of the accommodation.
The One Bedroom Overwater Pool Residence is a spacious option for couples or families who want to stay above the lagoon without giving up a separate living room. The layout includes a king bedroom, walk-in wardrobe and generous shared living space, with large windows opening the view towards the water.
The Two Bedroom Beach Pool Residence gives families or friends two separate bedrooms and a shared indoor living room. The sleeping arrangement includes one king-size bed, two twin beds and two day beds, making it particularly practical for parents travelling with children.
The Three Bedroom Beach Pool Residence is well suited to larger families or groups who want to stay together while keeping some separation between bedrooms. It combines a two-bedroom residence with a separate Beach Villa, giving the third bedroom its own space while keeping everyone within the same accommodation area.
The Four Bedroom Beach Pool Residence is the largest beach accommodation at Vakkaru and is designed for extended families or groups. A two-bedroom residence forms the central space, with two standalone Beach Villas positioned alongside it, giving different parts of the group their own bedrooms and outdoor areas.
The Vakkaru Overwater Residence is the resort's largest overwater category, designed for families and groups who want four bedrooms and extensive shared living space. The residence is arranged across two floors, with indoor and outdoor areas for dining, relaxing and spending time together while looking across the lagoon.
Amaany is Vakkaru's beachfront breakfast restaurant, set beside the lagoon. The international buffet includes live cooking stations, making it a practical choice for guests who like plenty of variety at the start of the day.
Onu serves Asian food in a bamboo pavilion surrounded by tropical planting. The restaurant has an open kitchen and a choice of indoor and garden seating, giving dinner a different feel from Vakkaru's beach and overwater venues.
Vakku is a dinner-only beach grill focused on seafood and premium cuts of meat cooked over flame. Its open-air setting places guests close to the beach, giving it a clear identity among the resort's evening restaurants.
Isoletta is the resort's Italian restaurant beside the main pool. It serves lunch and dinner from an open kitchen, with pool snacks available during the late afternoon.
Anguru Teppanyaki has just ten seats arranged around the grill, with the chefs preparing set menus in front of diners. The small layout makes the cooking part of the meal and gives the venue a more interactive feel than the resort's conventional restaurants.
Island Pop-Up Dining is a weekly dinner held in a different part of the island rather than at a permanent restaurant. The evening begins with an aperitif before a seasonal tasting menu, with optional wine or non-alcoholic pairings.
Destination Dining gives guests the option to eat away from Vakkaru's regular restaurants. Experiences can be arranged in different parts of the island, including on the beach and in other private settings.
Organic Garden Dining starts with time in Vakkaru's kitchen garden, where guests can learn about and select fresh ingredients. The resort's chefs then prepare a garden-to-table meal within the palm-shaded garden setting.
Sandbank Escape takes guests by boat to a secluded sandbank reserved privately for their experience. Dining options include candlelit dinners and beachside barbecues, with stargazing also available as part of the evening.
Cabana is the poolside lounge for drinks and lighter food. Cocktails and refreshments are served throughout the day and into the evening, while poolside service is available until early evening.
Lagoon Bar sits over the water and serves drinks alongside lunch and dinner. Food includes sushi, sashimi and Asian-influenced tapas, while day beds and hammocks create a relaxed place to spend time above the lagoon.
Vakkaru Reserve is the resort's dedicated wine cellar, with a wine bar, terrace and communal table. The collection includes Old and New World labels, while the resident sommelier can guide guests through tastings and food pairings.
Merana Spa sits over the water and has 12 treatment rooms for massages, facials, body treatments and beauty rituals. Guests can combine treatments with the spa's hydrotherapy and wellness facilities.
The Hydrotherapy & Wellness Area forms part of Merana Spa and gives guests access to heat, steam and cold-water facilities alongside their treatments. Facilities include a sauna, steam room, warm Jacuzzi and cold plunge pool, with an ocean-facing sundeck nearby.
Vakkaru offers Ayurveda in partnership with Siddhalepa. Each programme starts with a personal consultation with the resident Ayurvedic doctor, including a dosha assessment, before suitable therapies and lifestyle guidance are recommended.
Vakkaru's wider wellness programme includes movement, mindfulness and holistic therapies. Guests can take part in Reiki, meditation, breathwork, sound healing, yoga, Pilates, functional training, HIIT and strength conditioning.
The dedicated Yoga Pavilion hosts guided yoga and mindful movement for beginners and regular practitioners. Group yoga runs from Saturday to Thursday, while private sessions can be booked for individual instruction.
The overwater Fitness Centre is open 24 hours and includes Technogym equipment, free weights and facilities for cardio, strength and conditioning. Personal training is also available.
The Salon provides hair, nail and beauty services on the island. Services include hairstyling, blow-dries, cuts, grooming, manicures, pedicures and beauty treatments.
The Main Pool gives guests a central place to swim when they want a change from the beach. It is surrounded by island greenery and sits close to the resort's poolside dining and drinks venues.
Parrotfish Club is the supervised children's club for ages 3–12. Indoor areas are used for arts, crafts and games, while outside there is a children's pool and activity space.
Coconut Club is Vakkaru's 24-hour games and social space for teenagers and adults. Guests can play billiards, table tennis, foosball, darts and board games or spend quieter time in the library lounge.
The Sports Fields cover tennis, football, beach volleyball and badminton. Tennis is played on all-weather floodlit courts, and equipment is provided for guests using the facilities.
Vakkaru has a professional-grade enclosed padel court, with casual matches, group sessions and one-to-one coaching available. Equipment is provided, making it easy for beginners to try the sport as well as for experienced players to keep playing while away.
Splash is the resort's main dive and watersports centre. It organises scuba diving, PADI courses, snorkelling, watersports, excursions, fishing and private boat trips around Baa Atoll.
Vakkaru offers scuba diving for first-time and qualified divers. Discover Scuba Diving is available from age 10, while Bubblemaker gives children aged 8–9 an instructor-led introduction in a supervised shore setting.
PADI training through Splash covers first qualifications and further development for existing divers. The PADI Open Water Diver Course is available from age 10, while PADI Advanced Open Water is available from age 12 for guests with the required certification.
Vakkaru's snorkelling programme covers the house reef as well as guided trips further afield. Activities include house-reef snorkelling, lessons, night snorkelling, turtle snorkelling, coral-garden trips and private guided sessions.
Manta Ray Snorkeling runs seasonally from May to November and takes guests to Hanifaru Bay within the Baa Atoll UNESCO Biosphere Reserve. Trips operate every other day and usually last two to three hours.
The Coral Adoption Programme allows guests to take part in Vakkaru's coral-restoration work. Coral fragments are attached to specially prepared frames to help create new reef habitat.
Splash offers both motorised and non-motorised watersports. The programme includes parasailing, kite surfing, waterskiing, wakeboarding, mono-skiing, kneeboarding, windsurfing, Top Cat sailing, Jet Ski, Jet Board, Manta Bike, Seabob, Fun Rides, stand-up paddleboarding and kayaking.
The Glass Bottom Boat travels over the house reef without guests needing to enter the water. It gives children, non-swimmers and other travellers a way to see the reef from the boat.
The Dolphin Cruise heads out aboard Princess 54 with Champagne and canapés while the crew looks for dolphins in the waters around Baa Atoll.
Private Atoll Discovery provides a private way for couples, families or groups to explore the reefs and waters around Baa Atoll rather than joining a scheduled group trip.
Big Game Fishing heads further into the Indian Ocean for offshore fishing. Half-day and full-day trips are available, giving keen anglers a choice of how long they spend at sea.
Sunset Fishing introduces guests to traditional Maldivian fishing methods during an evening trip. Any catch can be prepared by the resort's chefs for lunch or dinner the following day for an additional charge.
Private Charters allow guests to arrange a boat trip around their own interests rather than joining a scheduled group excursion. Options include snorkelling, reef trips, sunset cruising and excursions that look for dolphins when conditions allow.

Vakkaru's honeymoon experiences combine private dining, spa time and ocean activities. Couples can arrange Romantic Destination Dining, a Couple's Massage Lesson, Floating Breakfast and private excursions.
Vakkaru hosts meetings, incentives, conferences, strategy sessions, executive retreats and other group events. A dedicated events team can combine working sessions with team-building activities and celebratory dinners.

Private Sunset Fishing offers an evening fishing trip aboard a luxury dhoni on a private basis. The experience lasts two hours.
Vakkaru Maldives is on Vakkaru Island in Baa Atoll, around 125 km or 68 nautical miles north of Malé. From Velana International Airport, the main transfer is an approximately 30-minute shared seaplane flight, operating during daylight hours, with access to Vakkaru’s private seaplane lounge before departure. Alternatively, guests can take a 20-minute domestic flight to Dharavandhoo Airport followed by a 30-minute speedboat ride to the resort.
