Today brings a true highlight as you venture into what's often called the world's most extraordinary natural wildlife theatre. Following an early breakfast, make your way to the crater's entrance and begin the descent through drifting morning mist, dropping roughly 2,000 feet onto the caldera floor. Ngorongoro stands as the planet's largest unbroken volcanic caldera, and its considerable size and varied terrain create distinct habitats: woodland, marshes, lakes, freshwater springs, open savannah, and even patches of sandy dunes, resulting in an exceptional and varied wildlife encounter.
