The Deluxe Sea View Room suits couples and small families who prefer an upper-floor room with a private balcony. These 40 sqm rooms are on the first or second floor of either the Manor House or a Creole-style Villa House, with a choice of twin or king-size beds.
The Deluxe Beach Front Room is a 40 sqm first-floor room in a Creole-style Villa House, with a private balcony overlooking the ocean and gardens. It has a king-size bed and can accommodate up to three adults, or two adults with one child or teenager. Direct beach access makes it a good choice for guests who want to stay close to the shoreline.
The Premium Sea View Room gives couples and families 50 sqm of space on the ground floor, with a private terrace overlooking the ocean and gardens. Bedding options include twin beds, a king-size bed or two queen-size beds. Connecting rooms and cots can be requested, making this a practical choice for families who want a little more space.
The Premium Beach Front Room combines 50 sqm of space with a ground-floor beachfront setting. Its private terrace opens towards the sea and provides direct beach access, making it a useful option for guests who want to move easily between their room and the shoreline.
The Family Room gives larger families 80 sqm of space in the Manor House. It uses a connecting-room layout with both king-size and twin beds, giving parents and children separate sleeping areas while keeping everyone close together.
The 100 sqm Premium Suite adds a separate lounge alongside the bedroom, giving couples and families more room for longer stays. It is on the ground floor of a Creole-style Villa House and comes with a private terrace overlooking either the garden or ocean.
The Premium Accessible Room provides 50 sqm of space with features designed for guests with reduced mobility. Sugar Beach has three accessible rooms, with ramps and wheelchair-friendly bathrooms to make movement around the room easier.
The Executive Beach Front Suite is a 100 sqm ground-floor suite for two adults, set within a Creole-style Villa House. It combines a king-size bedroom with a separate lounge and walk-in wardrobe, giving couples more space than the standard room categories.
Maré Maré Beach Restaurant serves Mediterranean food in a beachside setting. The menu includes Spanish tapas, antipasti, pizzas and desserts, with both lunch and dinner served à la carte.
Le Patio is the resort’s main dining restaurant, serving breakfast, lunch, afternoon snacks and dinner. Breakfast and dinner are buffet-style, while lunch is served à la carte.
The Tea Room focuses on teas from around the world, with high tea served every day. It offers a dedicated tea experience rather than the cocktail and drinks service found in the resort’s bars.
The Members Club Lounge is available to Sunlife Members Club members staying at Sugar Beach. It provides a separate lounge space linked to the benefits offered through the hotel’s membership programme.
Buddha-Bar Beach is a beachside restaurant serving fusion dishes, with seafood and sushi among the choices highlighted by the resort. Lunch and dinner are served here, giving guests an à la carte alternative to the buffet dining at Le Patio.
Le Patio Bar serves drinks, light lunches and afternoon tea from morning until late evening. The drinks selection includes cocktails, international beers on tap and spirits, with cigars also available.
GLOW Spa combines massage and beauty treatments with a traditional hammam and dedicated treatment spaces. Facilities include eight single and two double treatment rooms, a heated pool within the hammam, a dedicated shiatsu area and a hairdressing salon.
Sugar Beach runs organised fitness sessions including yoga, aqua gym, cardio and strength classes. The programme is suitable for beginners as well as more experienced guests.
Sugar Beach has five tennis courts and a dedicated Martial Arts area. Activities include football, beach volleyball, table tennis, bocci ball, tae bo, kickboxing, judo and karate.
The Boat House is the base for Sugar Beach’s water activities. Complimentary options include windsurfing, stand-up paddleboarding, giant stand-up paddleboarding, pedal boats, single and double kayaks, Hobie Cat sailing, glass-bottom boat trips, aqua gym and water polo.
Snorkelling is one of the complimentary water activities available through the Boat House. It is offered on a first-come, first-served basis alongside the resort’s other included water sports.
Scuba diving is available at extra cost through the Boat House. PADI Open Water courses are also offered, giving beginners the option to learn during their stay as well as providing diving opportunities for experienced guests.
Deep sea fishing is available at extra cost through the Boat House and requires at least 24 hours’ advance booking.
Golf is a major part of the activity programme, with complimentary unlimited green fees at Ile aux Cerfs Golf Club and Tamarina Golf Club. Ile aux Cerfs was designed by Bernhard Langer, while Tamarina is an 18-hole, par-72 championship course designed by Rodney Wright.
Glass Studio lets guests turn recycled glass bottles from the hotel into handcrafted souvenirs. It combines a creative workshop with the resort’s approach to reusing glass rather than simply discarding it.
Cinema Under the Stars takes place on the lawn in front of the Manor House. Guests watch films outdoors using personalised Bluetooth headphones, with movie-night treats such as popcorn, candy floss and ice cream available.
L’Atelier des Sens is a perfume-making workshop created with one of the oldest perfume houses in Grasse. Guests explore different essences before working with an expert perfumer to develop their own fragrance.
Strictly Sugar is Sugar Beach’s ballroom dance experience. Experienced instructors guide couples through movement and technique, with the activity built around learning and practising ballroom dancing.
Crazy Croquet takes place on the grand lawn and is played in teams using traditional croquet mallets, hoops and a peg. White clothing and Panama hats form part of the activity’s dress code.
Brilliant Bocce gives the traditional lawn game an evening twist by using illuminated balls. Teams compete to reach five points first, and the activity is suitable for all ages.
Beauty Bubble is a beauty and wellbeing experience offering relaxing massages, hair styling and make-up. Guests can visit during the day, around sunset or in the evening.
Sugar Beach runs live music, sunset shows and cultural performances as part of its resort entertainment. These events add an evening option for guests who want something to do after the daytime sports, beach and pool activities.
Sugar Beach offers beach, garden and Manor House settings for weddings. Wedding packages include support from a wedding planner and a back-up plan for unsuitable weather.
Sugar Beach can host private parties and celebrations across its outdoor spaces, restaurants and bars. Official examples include White & Silver Night on Gov’s Lawns and a Mauritian Festival BBQ with local food, Sega dancing and beach entertainment.
Sugar Beach is on Coastal Road in Wolmar, Flic en Flac, on Mauritius’ west coast. Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam International Airport is around 60 minutes away by car, with private airport transfers and taxis available at extra cost. La Pirogue is next door, while Casela Nature Park, Black River Gorges and Tamarin Bay are among the nearby places highlighted by the resort.
