The Beach Pavilion is the better choice for travellers who want the beach directly outside their accommodation. These individual ground-floor pavilions have direct access to the sand, along with lagoon and ocean views from a private furnished terrace.
The Garden Family Bungalow gives families two connecting rooms, making it easier to stay together without sharing one sleeping area. The 50 sqm layout includes two bungalows, each with its own bathroom and private terrace overlooking the tropical gardens.
The Premium Garden Bungalow offers the same compact 25 sqm layout as the Garden Bungalow but adds a sea view and a few extra in-room features. These semi-detached thatched bungalows sit within the coconut grove and work well for couples or small families who want a garden setting with an outlook towards the coast.
The Garden Bungalow suits couples or small families who want to stay within La Pirogue’s coconut grove. The room has a simple Mauritian style, with a thatched roof, sloping ceiling and a private furnished terrace surrounded by the resort gardens.
The Deluxe Beach Family Pavilion combines two connecting pavilions beside the beach. It gives families the same benefit of separate sleeping and bathroom spaces as the Garden Family Bungalow, but with direct access to the sand from the private terraces.
The Duke of Edinburgh Suite is La Pirogue’s largest accommodation category, with 78 sqm of space and a separate living area. It suits couples or families who want more room during their stay, with a private furnished terrace looking towards the gardens.
Coconut Café serves Mauritian street food in a relaxed setting close to the infinity pool and beach. Pizzas and fresh juices are also available, giving guests a casual option for lunch or dinner.
Wolmar is La Pirogue’s main buffet restaurant, serving breakfast in the morning and international buffets in the evening. Live cooking stations add more choice, making it a useful option for families and guests who prefer a wide range of dishes.
Van Der Stel is La Pirogue’s wine bar, with 60 wines available by the glass. A sommelier can offer tasting notes and pairing advice, while cheeseboards and light meals are also served.
Medine Bar is one of the resort’s main spots for drinks and evening entertainment. The menu includes local rums, La Pirogue signature drinks and other beverages.
Tribute to Jazz is a special dining and entertainment evening held at Le Morne Beach Bar on selected days. Guests can enjoy a flying buffet alongside live jazz music.
GLOW Spa sits between La Pirogue and neighbouring Sugar Beach and offers a broad choice of treatments and wellness facilities. The programme includes Mauritian-inspired treatments, massages, scrubs, facials, aromatherapy rituals and Ayurveda-based therapies.
The GLOW Creative Journey adds guided wellness experiences alongside the spa’s treatment menu. Officially listed sessions include Morning Shalom, Ocean Healing and Healing Resonance.
La Pirogue has a 300 sqm fitness centre for guests who want to keep up with their usual exercise routine. Fitness activities also run according to the resort’s weekly programme, while personal fitness training is available at an additional charge.
La Pirogue has a large infinity pool and a separate children’s pool. Guests can also use the pool at neighbouring Sugar Beach.
Snorkelling is included within La Pirogue’s water-sports programme and is arranged through the Boat House. It gives guests a simple way to spend time in the water without booking a full diving activity.
Scuba diving is available at extra cost for guests who want to explore below the surface. PADI Open Water courses are also offered for travellers who want to work towards a recognised diving qualification during their stay.
Golf is one of La Pirogue’s strongest benefits for active travellers. Guests receive complimentary unlimited green fees at Ile aux Cerfs Golf Club and Tamarina Golf Club. Ile aux Cerfs is an 18-hole course designed by Bernhard Langer, while Tamarina is an 18-hole championship course designed by Rodney Wright. Golf carts are compulsory at both Ile aux Cerfs Golf Club and Tamarina Golf Club.
Dodo Wish is one of La Pirogue’s sustainability-focused experiences. A large dodo sculpture made from local badamier wood stands in the resort gardens, where guests can write an environmental promise and add it to the display.
Pirogue Painting invites guests to add their own artwork to a retired fishing boat. The boat develops over time as visitors paint and decorate it, linking the activity directly to La Pirogue’s fishing-boat identity.
Sega Zoomba combines Zumba-style exercise with the rhythm and movements of Mauritian Sega. The activity was created exclusively for La Pirogue by instructor Anouchka Zuel and takes place around the beach and pool area.
Marsan Confi brings Mauritian storytelling and local food traditions into the resort. The character moves around La Pirogue by bicycle, sharing stories about the island while guests can try fresh fruit salad or traditional fruit confit served with salt, chilli and tamarind sauce.
Island Trails is a treasure-hunt-style activity inspired by Captain Soleil. Guests use a map, solve clues and complete challenges while learning about Mauritian history, culture and sustainability.
Fisherman's Village Evening is a beachfront seafood barbecue built around local fish, shellfish and international seafood dishes. The evening also includes Seggae music and local rum, giving the experience a clear Mauritian focus.
Elite Mauritian BBQ is a special dining event held at Coconut Café. The menu includes seafood, meat and Mauritian dishes, giving guests another way to try local flavours outside the café’s normal service.
Brilliant Bocce gives the traditional lawn game an evening twist by using illuminated balls after dark. Teams compete to reach five points, and the experience is designed to be suitable for all ages.
Brilliant Breakfast is a private floating breakfast served in a traditional pirogue in the lagoon. A server introduces the native foods being served, adding a Mauritian element to the experience.
La Pirogue offers wedding settings on the beach, in the tropical gardens and on the jetty overlooking the lagoon. An in-house wedding celebration specialist helps couples arrange the event, with official wedding services also including options such as photography and wedding cake.
La Pirogue has indoor and outdoor spaces for meetings and corporate events. Muscade and Sesame are the main conference rooms, supported by Cardamone 1, Cardamone 2 and Cardamone 3 for smaller meetings.
La Pirogue can host private functions, gala dinners, award evenings and themed events. Sit-down dinners, banquets and private beach dinners can also be arranged, giving groups several options for celebrating within the resort.
La Pirogue is on Coastal Road in Wolmar, Flic en Flac, Rivière Noire, on Mauritius’ west coast. The beachfront setting gives guests easy access to Flic en Flac and the surrounding west-coast area. Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam International Airport is around 60 minutes away by car, and private airport transfers can be arranged through the resort.
