Park Inn by Radisson New Delhi Lajpat Nagar
After enjoying breakfast at the hotel, get ready to go on an expert-guided tour of India’s bustling capital. You will begin in Old Delhi by driving past the famous Red Fort, which is a massive, 17th-century fortress made of beautiful red sandstone. Then, you will take an exciting cycle-rickshaw ride through the narrow lanes of Chandni Chowk, one of the oldest and busiest markets in Delhi. You will also visit Raj Ghat, the quiet memorial to Mahatma Gandhi, as well as see the ancient ruins of Kotla Firoze Shah, a city built in the 1300s that houses a famous stone pillar that is more than 2,000 years old.
Following a traditional lunch at a local restaurant, your journey will turn towards New Delhi. You will pass the grand Rashtrapati Bhavan (the Presidential Palace) along Rajpath to arrive at the India Gate, a grand stone archway built to honour Indian soldiers. The last stop will be the magnificent Qutub Minar, the world’s tallest brick minaret. After a busy day exploring Delhi, you will head back to your hotel to relax and get a good night's sleep, ready for the next day’s adventure.
After breakfast, you will leave for Agra in your private air-conditioned vehicle. After a drive of 240 km (approx. 4 hours), you will arrive in Agra. Check into your hotel and relax a little before leaving for the historic Agra Fort. It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site made of red sandstone. This fort was the main home of the Mughal Emperors and is full of grand palaces to explore. Later, as the sun begins to set, you will visit Mehtab Bagh. These beautiful gardens sit across the river from the Taj Mahal, offering you a perfect, peaceful spot for your first view of the monument at sunset. Later, return to your hotel for dinner and a restful sleep.
Accommodation
Grand Mercure Agra
Your day begins early in the morning with a peaceful Yoga session at Taj Khema. You will enjoy stretching and breathing while watching the morning light hit the horizon. After this activity, you will head back to the hotel for a hearty breakfast. Then, you will take a trip to the Taj Mahal, a massive white marble building and a “World Wonder”. It is the symbol of love which the Mughal emperor Shah Jahan built to house the tomb of his beloved wife, Mumtaz Mahal. Later, you will visit a marble-inlay workshop. Here, you will find the local craftsmen displaying the same skills that were used to decorate the Taj centuries ago. You will see how creatively they fit tiny stones into solid marble by hand. For lunch, you will be taken to Sheroes Hangout. It is a café run by women who have survived acid attacks. After that, the afternoon is all yours. Whether you want to nap, wander the markets, or just process everything you have seen, the time is yours to enjoy.
After breakfast, you will leave Agra behind and begin your journey to Jaipur. On the way, there will be a stop at the village of Abhaneri, allowing you to see the incredible Chand Baori. It is one of the largest and deepest stepwells in India, with 3,500 narrow steps that create a mind-blowing symmetrical pattern. Plunging 20 metres down into the earth, it is a true hidden gem of Indian architecture. From there, you will hit the road to the "Pink City" of Jaipur, while also stopping for lunch at a restaurant. Once you arrive in Jaipur, you will check into the hotel, settle in your room, and relax and get ready for the next day’s adventure.
