The 58 sqm Lanai Room is a practical choice for couples or families who want to stay in the main resort. Located on the ground floor, rooms look towards either rice fields or rainforest and come with a king or Hollywood twin bed. The bathroom has a bathtub and separate shower, while a private terrace gives you space to sit outside.
The 61 sqm Di Ume Suite gives you extra space and a wide balcony with a dining table. Some suites sit along the river valley with views towards the running water below, while others look towards the mountains. The room has a king bed, with Hollywood twin beds available in some units, plus a sofa bed.
The 118 sqm One-Bedroom Pool Villa is designed for couples who want their own swimming pool and more private outdoor space. Each single-storey villa has a king bed, private balcony and views across Sidemen Valley and the surrounding hills.
The Luxury Tent is the non-pool option at The Wapa Lux Tent and is designed for up to two adults. It suits couples who want a tented stay with a private bathroom and terrace overlooking the Sidemen hills.
The 54 sqm Luxury Pool Tent adds a private swimming pool to the tented stay. Designed for up to two adults, it has a private terrace overlooking the Sidemen hills, along with a rain shower and a galam wood partition inside.
The 110 sqm Family Pool Tent is the largest tented category and accommodates up to four guests. It is designed for families or small groups who want more space while keeping the private-pool experience.
Sleeping Gajah Kitchen & Lounge is the resort’s main open-air restaurant, with 70 seats, panoramic hill views and the sound of the Unda River. It serves breakfast, lunch and dinner, making it the main choice for everyday dining during a stay.
BAR57 sits above Sleeping Gajah Kitchen & Lounge and looks across the Sidemen hills. Its position makes it a good place for a late-afternoon drink, particularly around sunset.
Romantic Dinner Under The Star is a private candlelit dining experience for couples celebrating a honeymoon, anniversary or another special occasion. A personal server looks after the evening, with private settings available by the Main Pool, Yoga Shala or Kampung Buluan.
The Private Cooking Class starts with a visit to Sidemen Traditional Market, where guests learn about local ingredients before joining the resort’s chefs for a hands-on Balinese cooking session. Afterwards, guests sit down to eat the dishes they have prepared.
Floating Breakfast can be arranged in the private pool of selected villas and Luxury Pool Tents. Guests without a private pool can use the Main Pool or, where applicable, the pool and lounge at The Wapa Lux Tent. The experience is also available to non-resident guests at the Main Pool.
Afternoon Tea is served daily at BAR57 and offers a simple break between daytime activities and dinner. In-house guests are served Balinese coffee or tea with a selection of local and international savoury cakes.
Balinese Heritage combines dinner at Sleeping Gajah Kitchen & Lounge with a traditional Balinese dance performance. It takes place on Saturdays during dinner and gives guests a chance to see a local cultural performance without leaving the resort.
Riverside BBQ Dinner takes place at Quotes Island in a riverside setting. The evening includes a welcome cocktail and an Archipelago buffet dinner curated by Chef Widana.
Kapha Spa has three treatment rooms and a private salon overlooking the Sidemen landscape. The spa offers traditional Balinese massage, aromatherapy massage, body treatments and facials, giving guests a dedicated place to slow down after trekking or sightseeing.
Yoga Shala offers complimentary scheduled yoga sessions for in-house guests every Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 8:00 AM. Surrounded by tropical gardens, palm trees and the sounds of the nearby river, the space hosts classes suitable for different experience levels, with much of the programme focused on beginners.
The GYM is on the lower level of the main pool and provides fitness equipment for independent workouts. Its long opening hours make it easy to fit exercise around sightseeing, spa appointments or activities elsewhere in Sidemen.
The main swimming pool is a two-tier infinity pool overlooking Sidemen Valley. It gives guests a central place for swimming and quieter time between excursions and activities.
Melali di Ume Trekking takes guests through the countryside around Sidemen on guided routes of different lengths. In-house guests can join a complimentary one-hour light trek, while two-hour and four-hour options provide a more active walk.
The Bicycle Tour takes guests through the Sidemen countryside, with routes towards Sidemen Village and Gembleng Waterfall. Medium and more challenging options are available, giving active travellers a choice based on their experience and fitness.
Sidemen Sightseeing is a guided drive with a local driver, offering an easy introduction to Sidemen and the surrounding area. It suits guests who want to see more of the region without committing to a longer walk or cycling route.
The Scooter Tour covers rice terraces, traditional villages and a waterfall area in around three hours, accompanied by a member of the Wapa team.
Telaga Waja Rafting is one of the resort’s more active off-site experiences. Professional guides provide a safety briefing before accompanying guests on the river, with the rafting itself lasting approximately two and a half to three hours.
Making Offering Demonstration introduces guests to traditional Balinese offerings and explains their role in everyday life and ceremonies. Guests are shown how the offerings are made before creating one themselves.
Sidemen Songket Weaving Demonstration introduces guests to the traditional brocaded textiles associated with Sidemen and Karangasem. The demonstration explains how songket is made and its place in traditional Balinese dress.
Eco Memories lets guests plant a tree in the resort garden and give it a name. The resort then looks after the tree and can provide progress updates through social media or email.
The resort’s semi-open-air Wedding Chapel is set against Sidemen’s rice fields and valley, with the Unda River forming part of the surrounding setting. Ceremonies can accommodate up to 40 guests, making it suited to smaller destination weddings.
Wapa di Ume Sidemen is in Banjar Dinas Tebola, Telaga Tawang, Sidemen, Karangasem, East Bali. It is about 58 km from I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport, with the drive taking around two hours depending on traffic. Traditional Klungkung Market is around 35 minutes away, while Candidasa is about 45 minutes away.
