Overview
Planning a South America trip can feel like a lot to figure out - where to start, how to move around, what’s actually worth seeing. This Colombia holiday deal simplifies all of that into one well-paced journey. You’ll move from Bogotá’s historic core to Medellín’s evolving neighbourhoods, and finally to Cartagena, where everything slows down near the Caribbean coast.
The idea behind this Colombia tour isn’t to rush through places, but to experience them properly. Flights, transfers, and stays are already arranged, so you’re not constantly thinking about logistics. With 2026, 2027, and 2028 dates now open, this Colombia holiday deal with Luxtripper gives you the flexibility to plan ahead without overcomplicating it.
What's Included
Itinerary
Your Colombia tour starts in Bogotá, the capital city located high in the Andes mountains. On arrival at the airport, you will be met and transferred to your hotel for a 2-night stay. The remainder of the day is free to rest after your journey.
On the following days, you will join a guided Colombia city tour covering the main highlights of Bogotá. This includes La Candelaria, the city’s historic centre, known for its colonial streets and public squares, along with visits to key landmarks within the area.
You will also visit the Gold Museum, which houses one of the most important collections of pre-Hispanic gold artefacts in South America. From there, the itinerary continues to Monserrate Hill, accessed by cable car, offering wide views across the city.
An excursion is included to Zipaquirá, where the Salt Cathedral is located inside an underground salt mine, built as a place of worship and considered one of Colombia’s most distinctive sites.
After breakfast on Day 4, you will check out and continue to the next destination (Medellín) of your Colombia itinerary.
Accommodation
Hotel Virrey Central
You will continue your Colombia tour with a flight to Medellín and transfer to your hotel on arrival. The city is known for its contrasting districts, where modern developments sit alongside more traditional neighbourhoods.
A guided tour will take you through selected areas of Medellín, covering key public spaces and districts that reflect the city’s transformation over recent years. The focus is on understanding how different parts of the city function today rather than a single historical narrative.
A full-day excursion is included to Guatapé. The journey takes you outside Medellín to a lakeside town known for its brightly painted buildings (zócalos). From here, you will proceed to El Peñol Rock, where a zigzagging staircase with 740 steps leads to a 360-degree viewing point at the top with wide views of the surrounding reservoir landscape.
After returning to Medellín, the remainder of the time is at leisure. Overnight stays are in the city before continuing to the next stage of your Colombia holiday deal.
Accommodation
ESTELAR Blue Hotel Medellín
You will continue your Colombia holiday with a flight from Medellín to Cartagena and transfer to your hotel on arrival. The city is located on Colombia’s Caribbean coast and is well-renowned for its historic, UNESCO-listed walled historic centre and preserved colonial architecture.
During your stay, a guided walking tour will cover the main highlights of the old town, including key plazas, streets, and heritage buildings. The area is compact, making it easy to explore further at your own pace once you are familiar with the layout.
The remainder of your time in Cartagena is free for independent exploration. Most activity is centred around the old town, where cafés, restaurants, and local shops are within walking distance. Afterward, you will head back to your hotel for the night before catching your flight to Bogotá the other day.
Accommodation
Don Pedro de Heredia, Cartagena
Once you arrive in Bogota, you will be transferred to your hotel for a final overnight stay. This allows time to rest and prepare for your international return journey. On day 10, you will be transferred to Bogotá Airport for your flight back to the UK, marking the end of your Colombia holiday deal.
