Sri Lanka South Coast Escape

When you arrive at the airport, get transferred to the coastal town of Negombo. The transfer time is approximately 45 minutes. Check into your hotel and spend the remainder of your day at your leisure. Relax by the ocean or explore the local area before retiring to your comfortable bed for the next day’s adventure. 

Enjoy your breakfast at the hotel before proceeding to Sigiriya in your private vehicle. The journey takes approximately 3 hours and 30 minutes. Upon arrival, experience the local culture with a village tour. Enjoy a traditional tuk-tuk ride, and an authentic Sri Lankan lunch to give you a true taste of village life. Then, check into your hotel to relax for a while. In the evening, you will climb the majestic Sigiriya Rock Fortress, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The climb takes 2 hours and 30 minutes. After experiencing a great adrenaline rush, return to your hotel to relax for the evening.

Begin your morning with an early morning climb to Pidurangala Rock. From the top, enjoy stunning panoramic views of the surrounding landscape and the Sigiriya Rock Fortress. The activity would take around 3 hours and 30 minutes. Post this, return to your hotel for breakfast. In the afternoon, embark on an adventurous jeep safari in the Habarana area national park. The safari lasts for around 3 hours and 30 minutes, giving you enough time to observe the local wildlife in their natural habitat. Return to your hotel and spend another evening relaxing and recharging for the next day’s adventure. 

Have your breakfast and proceed toward the hill capital, Kandy. Along the way, you will visit the Dambulla Cave Temple (a historic complex filled with intricate murals and statues), followed by a visit to a spice garden where you can learn about Sri Lanka’s famous exports. When you arrive in Kandy, check into your hotel and relax for a few hours. In the evening, visit the sacred Temple of the Tooth, then wrap your day with a guided walking tour through the city’s lively streets. Return to your hotel for a restful night. 

Eat your breakfast and leave the hills of Kandy behind to head toward Ella via Nuwara Eliya. Along the way, stop to visit a tea factory to witness how Sri Lanka’s world-famous brew is made. Your day is made memorable by a scenic train ride from Nuwara Eliya to Ella. The journey lasts 3 hours and 30 minutes and takes you through lush tea plantations. Upon arrival in Ella, check into your hotel and enjoy a relaxed evening.

Enjoy your breakfast and be prepared to hike up Little Adam’s Peak, which offers stunning panoramic views of the Ella Gap and surrounding mountain ranges. Afterward, you will visit the iconic Nine Arch Bridge which is a colonial-era masterpiece of railway engineering. Once you are done exploring these sights, return to your hotel to enjoy the rest of the day at your own leisure.

Eat your breakfast and travel towards the sunny south coast of Hikkaduwa. The trip takes approximately 4 hours as you descend from the mountains to the beautiful palm-fringed shoreline. Once you arrive and check in, the rest of the day is yours to enjoy. You can walk along the beach, take a dip in the ocean, or just kick back by the pool. 

The three days are dedicated completely to relaxation and leisure at your resort. You can soak up the sun on Hikkaduwa Beach, explore the local coral reefs, or simply enjoy the hotel’s facilities. Choose lounging by the pool with a drink or trying fresh seafood at the restaurant, whatever pleases you.

Enjoy your final breakfast in Sri Lanka as your tour comes to an end. You will be transferred from Hikkaduwa to the airport to connect with your departing flight to London, leaving you with lasting memories of your Sri Lanka Escape.
