GRAND LUX* SUITES are the hotel’s highest room category and sit directly on the beach facing the blue-green lagoon. Each 81 sqm suite has one bedroom, a separate living area and a kitchen opening onto the lounge. The bathroom includes a standalone bathtub and rainfall shower, while an outdoor tropical shower adds another option.
BEACHFRONT DELUXE ROOMS are set right by the beach and suit couples or small families who want to stay close to the shore. The interiors use light tones with wood, brass and locally made terrazzo, keeping the design in line with the rest of the resort.
BEACHFRONT EXECUTIVE ROOMS combine a beachfront setting with a bathroom that includes both a standalone bathtub and separate rainfall shower. The rooms look towards the beach and blue-green lagoon, with a furnished terrace or balcony for sitting outside.
EXECUTIVE ROOMS offer more space than DELUXE ROOMS and include both a standalone bathtub and separate rainfall shower. The interiors continue the hotel’s use of light colours, locally made terrazzo, wood and brass details.
DELUXE ROOMS are the most compact accommodation at LUX* Marijani and suit couples, solo travellers or a small family. Their interiors use light tones with wood and brass details, alongside locally made terrazzo.
INTERCONNECTING FAMILY ROOMS are designed for families who want two separate bedrooms while staying together. The bedrooms connect through an internal door, making the layout useful for parents travelling with children, teenagers or extended family.
Two ACCESSIBLE DELUXE ROOMS are specially equipped for wheelchair access. They are located on the ground floor, a few steps from the beach, making them the hotel’s dedicated accessible accommodation.
THE BEACH is the resort’s main restaurant, set beside the beach and swimming pool. Breakfast is an international buffet with live cooking stations. Lunch combines à la carte choices with buffet dishes influenced by local produce, while dinner includes themed buffets alongside à la carte options.
CAFÉ LUX* is in the lobby and focuses on coffee made with Kilimanjaro coffee beans. Its central location makes it easy to stop by in the morning or during the day without sitting down for a full meal.
SAMAA is the resort’s speciality Levantine restaurant, set directly on the beach under the open sky. Food is served with family-style seating, giving the meal a different feel from the buffet and à la carte format at THE BEACH.
ICI is the resort’s ice cream parlour, serving gelato, ice cream, sorbet and granita made in small batches. Flavours change each day, and guests can add toppings to create their own combination.
THE BAR sits next to THE BEACH and looks towards the lagoon. The drinks menu includes classic choices, Zanzibar Spiced Cocktails, Konyagi-infused drinks and herb-infused mocktails made with ingredients from the Resort Garden.
The FITNESS CENTRE sits beside the pool and is open 24 hours a day. It gives guests a convenient place to keep up their usual training without having to plan around set daytime opening hours.
FOREST BATHING takes place in the resort’s indigenous forest and follows the Japanese practice of shinrin-yoku. The experience focuses on putting devices aside and spending quiet time among the natural surroundings.
BEACH JOGGING makes use of the wide stretch of sand at Pwani Mchangani, which extends for kilometres in front of the resort.
SANDBANK YOGA takes place on the sandbank that appears at low tide. Sunrise sessions use the changing shoreline, with views towards local seaweed farmers as the tide moves out.
The FAMILY SWIMMING POOL measures 450 sqm and sits at the centre of the resort. Guests can use it for swimming and laps, while younger travellers have a dedicated children’s area.
The WATER SPORTS CENTRE is the starting point for several activities on and beneath the water. Complimentary kayaking and paddle boats are available, while snorkelling trips to Mnemba Island and PADI-certified diving trips can also be arranged.
The MNEMBA SNORKELLING TRIP takes guests away from Pwani Mchangani for a dedicated snorkelling experience around nearby Mnemba Island. The island is around 20 minutes from the resort.
