Upon landing at Almaty International Airport, you will complete the necessary immigration and customs procedures before being welcomed by an English-speaking guide with a personalised name board. A private transfer will then take you to your hotel, where early check-in will already have been arranged from the previous night for added convenience.
After breakfast and some free time to relax, you may choose to enjoy an optional lunch before setting out to discover the cultural and historical highlights of Almaty.
Your exploration will begin at the bustling Green Bazaar, where you will experience the city's multicultural atmosphere through its diverse range of local products and traditions. Here, you will have the opportunity to sample authentic regional specialities, including fresh horse milk from the Almaty region and camel milk brought from Turkestan. Please note that the market is closed on Mondays.

After breakfast at your hotel, you will check out and begin a scenic journey towards Charyn National Park, one of Kazakhstan’s most remarkable natural treasures. En route, you may choose to enjoy an optional lunch at a local café near the canyon before continuing your adventure.
Upon arrival, you will explore the famous Valley of the Castles, the most spectacular section of Charyn Canyon. Descending into the canyon via a series of steps, you will be surrounded by dramatic rock formations sculpted by wind, water, and time over millions of years. The landscape's striking colours and unusual shapes create an almost otherworldly setting, offering countless opportunities for photography.
You will continue with a leisurely walk through the canyon towards the Charyn River, where you can pause to appreciate the peaceful scenery and the extraordinary geological formations that make this area so unique. After spending time at the river, you will return to the panoramic viewpoint overlooking the Valley of the Castles, providing another chance to admire the canyon’s breathtaking scale.

Your day will begin with a journey to the lower parking area of Kaindy Lake, one of Kazakhstan’s most extraordinary natural wonders. Formed after the 1911 earthquake, this high-altitude lake is famous for its crystal-clear turquoise waters and the submerged spruce forest that rises dramatically from beneath the surface.
From the lower parking area, you will continue to the upper viewpoint by traditional Soviet-style minibus or, if preferred, by walking along the scenic terrenkur trail. A gentle mountain hike will then lead you to Kaindy Lake, where you will have time to admire the breathtaking landscapes of the Kungey Alatau Gorge. Optional horseback riding is also available.
Later, you will travel via Saty Village to the beautiful Kolsay Lakes, known as the "Pearls of the Northern Tien-Shan". The first lake, surrounded by forested mountains, offers spectacular views before you continue to your guesthouse. A homemade dinner with local specialities, tea, and water will be served before your overnight stay.
You will depart for the Kyrgyz border via the Kegen Crossing Point. At the border, you will change vehicles and drivers, and you will need to carry your luggage through immigration and customs procedures before meeting your English-speaking guide on the Kyrgyz side. Please note that border formalities can occasionally take longer than expected and that Kyrgyzstan operates one hour ahead of Kazakhstan.
After crossing into Kyrgyzstan, you will continue to Karakol and check into your hotel. An optional lunch may be enjoyed at a local restaurant.
Your sightseeing programme will include the historic Holy Trinity Cathedral, a beautifully preserved wooden church renowned for its colourful domes and Russian Orthodox heritage. You will also visit the remarkable Dungan Mosque, an architectural masterpiece built without nails, showcasing a unique blend of Chinese and Islamic influences.

As soon as you take your scrumptious breakfast, you will get going on a scenic drive through the spectacular mountain landscapes of southern Kyrgyzstan on your way to the Toktogul Reservoir. The journey will take you across some of the country’s most impressive high-altitude routes, offering ever-changing views of valleys, peaks, and alpine meadows.
Along the way, you will stop at the Too Ashuu Panorama Viewpoint, where sweeping views of the winding mountain road and the vast Chuy Valley create excellent photo opportunities. Continuing higher into the mountains, you will reach the summit of Too Ashuu Pass at approximately 3,400 metres above sea level, where a brief stop will allow you to admire the dramatic surroundings.
Further on, you will enjoy views across the expansive Suusamyr Valley, renowned for its rolling pastures, traditional yurts, and grazing horse herds. A short stop will also be made at the Manas Monument Complex, dedicated to Kyrgyzstan’s legendary national hero.

In the morning, you will discover the rich heritage of Penjikent, an important Silk Road settlement that once thrived as a centre of Sogdian civilisation. Your visit will include the remarkable ruins of Ancient Penjikent, where the remains of streets, buildings, and fortifications reveal the story of a prosperous city dating from the 6th to 8th centuries. As you explore the site, you will gain insight into its history and enjoy panoramic views of the surrounding area.
The journey will then continue to Sarazm, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of Central Asia’s earliest known settlements. Dating back more than 5,500 years, this extraordinary archaeological complex preserves traces of ancient homes, workshops, and ceremonial spaces, offering a fascinating glimpse into prehistoric life.
Later, you will travel to the Jartepa border crossing and complete immigration and customs formalities before entering Uzbekistan. After crossing the border, you will meet your guide and continue towards Samarkand. Your exploration begins at the magnificent Kalon Complex, home to the iconic Kalon Minaret, a Silk Road landmark that has stood since the 12th century, the vast Kalon Mosque, and the still-active Mir-i-Arab Madrasa. The minaret is particularly notable for surviving the era of Amir Timur, who reportedly ordered its preservation due to its remarkable beauty.

You will journey across the immense Kyzylkum Desert, one of Central Asia’s most extensive and historically significant desert landscapes. Along the way, you will explore the remarkable archaeological sites of Ayaz-Kala and Toprak-Kala, two ancient fortresses that once formed part of the powerful Khorezm civilisation.
An optional lunch may be enjoyed during the drive before reaching Ayaz-Kala, a dramatic hilltop fortress dating back to the 2nd century AD. Built during the era of the Kushan Empire, it played a key defensive role in safeguarding the Khorezm oasis. The site also contains traces of ancient settlements, residential compounds, and larger buildings believed to have housed military commanders or important officials.
You will then continue to Toprak-Kala, known as the “City of Earth”, which served as the capital of the Khorezmian state during the 3rd century AD. Once the residence of the Khorezmshahs, the city was eventually abandoned following prolonged regional conflicts.
