Next, head to Bat Cave, where the first ancestors of the Muong ethnic group lived. Enjoy lunch at a local house on stilts. Next, trek 7 km through the jungle to explore the biodiversity along the way. Further, the winding road around the gorgeous mountains will take you to Uoi Village, located in the middle of the forest. Trekking in this region will take you through roads and farmland, wild fields, villages, ponds, rivers, mountains and open land. Get transferred back to Pu Luong. Overnight stay at Pu Luong.

Enjoy a nice breakfast and then depart for Pu Luong for a 3.5-hour drive to Ninh Binh Province. There you visit Vietnam's ancient capital of Hoa Lu, the country's first centralised feudal state where you may find the spectacular temples of Dinh and Le dynasties, surrounded by rice paddies.

Continue your trip to Tam Coc, known as “Halong Bay on Land”, where you will have a skilled rower take you on a serene 2-hour slow journey over the river and canals. Sight gorgeous karst formations as you enter three of the several natural caves formed under the hills. Next, visit the Thai Vi temple on your way back to the hotel and check in. Today, you will depart from Hanoi for a 2.5-hour drive to Tuan Chau harbour via the new highway. Get a warm welcome aboard and set sail through the bay while your lunch is served. Pass through the magical bay where thousands of sculpted limestone islands rise from the waves like dragon's teeth.

Post-lunch, you will take a short trek to a nearby summit for a panoramic view of the bay which is dotted with golden sails. Next, go swimming on a quiet beach or sunbathing on the sundeck. Further, late into the afternoon, visit an interesting fishing village where you can interact with fishermen who've been living in the bay for almost three generations.
