Philippines is an archipelago of more than 7,000 islands that make up one diverse country that embodies the spirit of South East Asia. With a unique set of cultures, cuisines, and attractions, Philippines is one of the most attractive destinations in the far east. The capital of Philippines, Manila and its metropolitan area, known as Metro Manila is a bustling area that offers many great attractions, including historic churches, parks, museums, theatres, shopping malls, and monuments.
The cities outside of Manila, such as Cebu City, Davao, and Quezon City all promise to give amazing experiences, but for a true experience of Philippines, it is highly recommended that one travels to the less urban areas, where you will find amazing attractions such as the Chocolate Hills of Bohol, the Taal Volcano, Puerto Princesa Subterranean River National Park, Banaue Rice Terraces, and so many others. Philippines is located in an area known for its tropical heat and high rainfall.
The conditions in the country are ideally suited for a vast number of national parks and nature reserves filled with an amazingly diverse array of fauna and flora. If you get the chance, take a boat out to see the largest species of fish in the world – whale sharks – just off the Philippines coastline in some of the cleanest waters in the world.
