Turaco Treetops view with pool

Turaco Treetops

Turaco Treetops is a semi-luxury lodge nestled within Kibale National Park. This property offers an immersive rainforest experience. The lodge comprises eight luxury forest cottages and eight standard rooms, each designed with large windows and private balconies to provide guests with panoramic views of the surrounding forest and the distant Rwenzori Mountains. Their amenities include a solar-powered swimming pool, a cosy lounge with a fireplace, a restaurant serving international cuisine, and a bar. The lodge is committed to sustainability, operating on solar energy and minimising plastic use. It also supports conservation efforts through the Chris Roberts Forest Foundation. You can engage in activities such as chimpanzee trekking, birdwatching, nature walks, and visits to nearby crater lakes and tea plantations. Family-friendly facilities, including a playground and kids' room, ensure a welcoming environment for all ages.

After an early breakfast, you’ll head to the park headquarters for a briefing before setting off into the forest with ranger guides, who will lead you to the chimpanzees’ last known nesting site. If you're early, you may catch them waking. You'll track and observe one group for up to four hours, witnessing behaviours like feeding, grooming, nursing, patrolling, and nesting. Along the way, spot other primates such as Olive Baboons, Red Tailed and Colobus Monkeys, plus a variety of birdlife. Afterwards, return to the lodge for relaxation.

Quickly post breakfast at the lodge, you will have to depart with a packed lunch for Queen Elizabeth National Park, one of Uganda’s top destinations. The park boasts a rich mix of landscapes, savannas, forests, lakes, and wetlands. It supports a variety of wildlife, including chimpanzees, big game, and over 600 bird species. With the Rwenzori Mountains as a dramatic backdrop, highlights include crater-dotted hills, the Kazinga Channel teeming with hippos and buffalo, and the Ishasha plains, where tree-climbing lions stalk Uganda Kob beneath towering fig trees. You will be staying at the Marafiki Safari Lodge in Double Cottage for the next 2 nights, and it will be a full-board service.

Budget travellers can opt for a luxurious timber cabin that accommodates up to 16 people in four spacious dormitory rooms.

Begin the day with a rewarding game drive through Queen Elizabeth National Park, offering excellent chances to spot wildlife such as elephants, lions, buffalo, and various antelope species. Enjojo Lodge landscape view

Enjojo Lodge

Enjojo Lodge is a unique eco-lodge located in the Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park, Uganda. The name "Enjojo," meaning "elephant" in the local Rukiga language, was inspired by the birth of a baby elephant on the lodge's land during its construction. Situated on 40 hectares of land, the lodge is bordered by acacia forests, grasslands, and palm trees, offering a serene and immersive wilderness experience. The lodge features seven luxury thatched cottages, each with en-suite bathrooms, outdoor showers, and private verandas overlooking the surrounding bush and savanna. Additionally, a safari house accommodates families or groups, complete with an outdoor kitchen and private campfire area. For budget travellers, there are bamboo huts and canvas tents equipped with shared facilities. Enjojo Lodge operates entirely on solar power and is constructed using locally sourced materials, with much of the furniture and decor handcrafted by the local community. Guests can enjoy homemade meals from the lodge's organic garden in the grass-thatched restaurant and bar, which overlooks a small natural lake frequented by wildlife.

Start your day with a game drive through Ishasha, offering the chance to spot unique wildlife including hyenas, fish eagles, and possibly another encounter with the famous tree-climbing lions. From there, the journey continues to Bwindi National Park, home to over 300 mountain gorillas, nearly half of the species’ global population. You will be spending the rest of the 3 nights at Mahogany Springs Lodge in one of their Double Cottages with Full Board.
