Today’s suggestion is you can keep sampling the local street foods along with the local markets around the city region.

Have your breakfast and check out of the hotel. Later, you will meet your driver to facilitate your transfer to KLIA airport hopping on a short flight to Kota Kinabalu. Once you arrive there, meet a local representative who will facilitate your transfer to your hotel.

Today you will get on an early start - pickup from your hotel will be around 7:30 am.

Firstly, we are headed to Kundasang to visit Kinabalu Park, Malaysia’s first UNESCO World Heritage Site which is located 90 km from Kota Kinabalu city (takes about 3 hours). You will make a temporary stop at the Nabalu Village to relish some nice local fruits and shop for handicrafts. Besides, you will be passing through beautiful local villages, hills and valleys which are awesome in itself.

Once you arrive at Kinabalu Park, you receive a guided tour where you visit an amazing exhibition centre and a nice garden. Enjoy nature walking all along as you feel the pristine mountain air and take in the stunning views of the valleys and mountain ranges. Further, have a sumptuous lunch at a local restaurant before you depart for Kota Kinabalu. After this, you are going to get on another journey to Poring Hot Spring.

Once you reach there, enjoy trekking to Canopy Walkway which is a 175 long suspended above the forest floor. (The hike will take around 20 minutes.) Guests will enjoy a mesmerising time taking sulphur bath in the Japanese-styled open air tubs. You will be taking a dip in mineral-rich hot spring waters set in a beautiful location surrounded by landscaped gardens.

Ultimately, you will be returning to Kota Kinabalu late in the afternoon. You will be arriving at your accommodation Shangri-La’s Tanjung Aru Resort around 18:30 to 19:30 hrs.

Today also you are getting an early start - around 5:00 to connect with your flight to Sandakan. Once you deboard at Sandakan Airport, you will be facilitated to Sepilok Orang Utan Rehabilitation Centre. Further, proceed to enjoy a nice video show which covers the plight of the Orang Utans and the various efforts of rehabilitation at the centre. You will take a walk for ten minutes around the rainforest to watch the orangutans getting fed.

Post-this, you are going to visit the Borneo Sun Bear Conservation Centre to see the world’s smallest bears.

Have lunch at this hour and then you will be repositioned to Sandakan Jetty for a 2-and-half hours of boat journey to arrive at the spectacular Sukau Rainforest Lodge. Once you are there, get on a river cruise on an electric motor looking for wildlife and birds.

Later, enjoy a nice candlelight dinner overlooking the riverbank and also receive an informative slide presentation and interpretation by a naturalist guide.

Sukau Rainforest Lodge

Enjoy a true immersive jungle experience when you put up at this award-winning Sukau Rainforest Lodge, located right by the Kinabatangan River and surrounded by the majestic Borneo wildlife. In Sukau Rainforest Lodge, there are a total of 20 Borneo Villas and 20 Superior rooms that are very relaxing and feel fresh to stay overlooking stunning natural vistas. A plunge pool, a nice lounge area, and open-air dining are some of the cool amenities available to the guests.

Get on 0600 hours in the morning to enjoy a cruise up the Kinabatangan River further onto Kelenanap Ox-Bow Lake for bird and wildlife watching.

Have a good breakfast and later head for an informative educational tour by the lodge’s Hornbill Boardwalk accompanied by our expert in-house naturalist. Have a decent lunch and then take part in our Orang Utan Talk activity.

During the afternoon hours, you will proceed to get on another river cruise to witness more wildlife.

Have your breakfast and around 9:00 hrs, you will get on a short boat transfer to hop on a Lepid Jetty - a 4x4 vehicle will be awaiting your transfer to the adventure that follows at the Danum Valley (transfer from Sukau River Lodge to Borneo Rainforest Lodge).

On this day, your adventure proceeds with a 4 ½ hrs drive to the beautiful Danum Valley Conservation area. You are going to enjoy spectacular landscapes pertaining to these dense rainforests along the way and get a chance to encounter several wildlife.

Once you arrive at the Borneo Rainforest Lodge, a representative will be present who will meet and greet you and transfer you to Danum Valley.

First, you are going to check in to the Borneo Rainforest Lodge and later get an introduction to the following nature activity happening for the day.

Note for the above: on the tour, you get various nature activities, including Canopy Walkway, guided nature trails, and safari night drive (once you had your dinner).

For the next 3 nights starting today, you will get on a 4* Borneo Rainforest Lodge where you will be putting up a beautiful river/jungle chalet room (you get a room only).

Feel mesmerised spending your holidays right in the middle of one of the world's oldest rainforests, Danum Valley. This fantastic award-winning lodge offers 31 rooms (with en suite bathrooms) and has stunning river or jungle views. If you are a nature lover or birdwatcher, you are going to have the time of your life during your stay here.

Prepare for an unforgettable day when you wake up to the calls of the Bornean Gibbons and get on with guided trekking to the beautiful ‘View Point’ and ‘Coffin Cliff’ (a Kadazan Dusum burial site).

Further, you are going to take a short break by the refreshing natural Jacuzzi Pool to enjoy a nice dip before you have your lunch at your lodge.

You can hop on various afternoon optional activities: a guided jungle trekking or if weather permits, water tubing session down the Danum River for one hour or as per the guest’s leisure time. Enjoy a nice guided night walk on the nature trail once you have your dinner.

Further, you will be trekking up to ‘Fairy Falls’ and ‘Serpent Falls’ to enjoy beautiful panoramic views. After this, you are going to return to the lodge to have your lunch.

For the afternoon, the following activities are available: guided trekking along Segama River (or you can avail of that according to the guest’s own leisure time).

In the early morning, take a refreshing walk through nature, followed by a decent breakfast. Spend some time at your leisure before you check out after you have your lunch.

There’s going to be a vehicle driving you through the lush greenery to the airport to connect with your flight to Kota Kinabalu. Once you reach Kota Kinabalu International Airport, our representative is going to drive you to the Jesselton Point Jetty.

A representative will usher you to the Resort Lounge to complete your registration. A boat will be present that is going to take you to your resort.

For the next 3 nights you will be residing in an exceptional 5* Bungaraya Island Resort, where you will be staying in a nice Superior Room where bed and breakfast are included in the deal.
