Responsible travel is one of our founding values and governs everything that we do. We love our planet and want to preserve it for future generations, and we know our clients do too.
When it comes to climate change, our planet needs us to do more to help restore its natural balance, which is why we have partnered with Trees4Travel to allow our customers to offset the CO2 emissions created from their holidays. Trees4Travel is committed to the long-term success of tree planting to offset CO2. They select indigenous trees that will thrive in each climate, and work with local communities and organisations to ensure that everyone stands to benefit.
Each tailormade Luxtripper holiday is individually calculated for its carbon cost and our customers can choose to offset their trip, if they would like. For those that do opt in, a certain number of saplings will be planted in key sites across the world that will offset the carbon emissions within the next ten years. This is our partnership too and so customers will only need to pay for 50% of the trees required to offset their holiday.
It’s estimated that over 500,000 wild animals globally are suffering endlessly just to entertain tourists. We have always stood firm on the protection of animals and we will never recommend or sell products or services that involve the mistreatment or containment of animals for tourism.
We also hold our suppliers to very high standards on animal welfare, and take our role as educators seriously, working closely with those on the ground to ensure that they understand why certain activities and attractions have a detrimental effect on animals and sea life. We have a wide range of experiences for our clients to visit animals in caring environments, and support the work of local communities who are seeking to protect animals - ask your travel specialist for more information.
We work closely with all of our suppliers to find and promote activities and experiences run by local enterprises, particularly those that celebrate different communities and cultures. Not only is it important to us that the travel experiences we provide support everyone in the destinations that we offer, it also creates much more authentic and unique experiences for our clients around the world.
Whether it’s helping local marine biologists build coral nurseries in Malaysia, witnessing the ‘big 5’ in Kenya with all-female resident ranger teams, or taking part in community art projects in Tulum, your travel specialist will be able to help you find incredible experiences that will make your trip truly special.
We work with a wide range of hotels and experience providers who are actively seeking more sustainable practices and we will always highlight those credentials to our clients. From water and waste solutions, to coral reef conservation and innovations in solar energy, many of our partners across the world are leading the way with sustainable practices. Your travel specialist will be able to curate a sustainable trip for you.
Each holiday we create adheres to our strict ethical code on wildlife protection, preservation of the environment and supporting local communities. While we recognise that there is still more work to be done, we are committed to making a positive and meaningful impact on the world, because travel is better when everyone stands to benefit.
