After being collected from the airport by your private car transfer, you'll be swiftly taken to the first hotel on your trip: La Casona de La Ronda Hotel Boutique.

Day 1
2 nights stay at La Casona de La Ronda Hotel Boutique

Oozing with traditional Ecuadorian charm, La Casona de La Ronda Hotel Boutique immerses you in Ecuador's rich cultural heritage; situated in one of the oldest Spanish houses built in 1738, a stay this rustic boutique hotel will surely be one to remember. With a delightful restaurant serving the very finest Ecuadorian cuisine, comfortable rooms and remarkable views across the city, this really is the best place to stay on your first time in Quito.

Day 1-3

Situated 9,350 ft above sea level and nestled between sublime mountain peaks, Quito is quite literally a world away from anywhere you've ever been before. Combining traditional Ecuadorian Sierra culture with modern day life, Quito delightfully fuses the old and the new; expect overflowing market stands, shamanistic healers, Panama Hat makers alongside a vibrant and sophisticated culinary and nightlife scene.

With a UNESCO World Heritage old town, it's imperative that you spend the day exploring this handsomely restored district; its Seventeenth Century architecture will really make you feel like you've stepped back in time. The main square is home to a delightful array of boutiques, bars and chocolate workshops, so make sure you visit some of these and taste authentic Ecuadorian goods - particularly the chocolate!

Day 3
Fly from Quito to Coca

Today you'll be leaving civilisation far behind you and heading off into the depths of the Amazon Rainforest! After being met at your hotel and taken to the airport, you'll board a short flight to Coca, after which you'll continue your journey by motorised dugout canoe deep into the Ecuadorean Amazon to your next hotel: Sacha Lodge.

Day 3
3 nights stay at Sacha Lodge

Set within a pristine 500-acre ecological reserve, Sacha Lodge is simply astounding, an eco-lodge like no other. Offering the highest comfort in the rainforest, the lodge not only offers a whole host of natural experiences but features a fine-dining restaurant, its own river-water swimming pool and rooms with their own balconies; be sure to keep your eyes and ears open for monkeys chattering outside your balcony and even giant sloths hanging out on trees by the cabins.

Day 3-6
The Amazon

Welcome to the Amazon, the largest rainforest in the world and home to approximately 10 million species. With your stay at Sacha Lodge, the adventures you can have are endless; from thrilling canopy walks and rainforest hikes to wildlife trails and creek canoeing, you can do as much or as little as suits you.

We particularly recommend you cross the lodge's 940-foot walkway, suspended 94-feet high above the treetops, as it provides an astounding opportunity to spot multitudes of birds, animals and epiphytes that are seldom seen from the ground. Like a true king of the jungle, you may even be lucky enough to spot a troop of monkeys as they forage through the jungle canopy - make sure you've got your camera ready as you'll need it!

Day 6
Fly from Coca to Quito

Your time in the Amazon is sadly drawing to an end. After spending the morning watching for wildlife, you'll head back to Coca by canoe where you'll then catch your flight to Quito for another night at La Casona de La Ronda Hotel Boutique.

This evening is the perfect time to delve into the Ecuadorian cuisine culture; head to the historic La Belle Epoque in the Hotel Plaza Grande, offering spectacular views across Quito’s historic centre and Plaza Grande (main square). The restaurant's atmosphere combined with its live music and exquisite food makes for an entertaining evening!

Day 7
Road transfer from Quito to Cloud Forest

After an early wake up call, you'll head off by private car transfer on an adventure deep into the Ecuadorian Cloud Forest. Upon arriving at the spectacular El Monte Lodge, you'll be entering far more than just a lodge in an exquisite location but a biological station that is at the forefront of rainforest protection!

Day 7
2 nights stay at El Monte Lodge

An eco-lodge set high in the Mindo Cloud Forest, El Monte Lodge is committed to its environment, offering visitors an authentic and sustainable experience in truly spectacular, untouched surroundings. With comfortable riverside cabanas, freshly-prepared dishes and authentic “fogatas” (fire pits), you'll be able to really unwind and feel immersed in nature.

Day 7-9
Mindo Cloud Forest

Cloud Forests are unique ecosystems unlike anywhere else on Earth, akin to Gardens of Eden, hosting a whole array of unique wildlife; imagine moss covered trees, crystal-clear burbling steams, vivid orchids, exotic birds - the list is endless!

The Mindo Cloud Forest Reserve is particularly phenomenal, its exceptional native bird species meaning that it's not uncommon to see birds such as Golden-headed Quetzals, Pale-Mandibled Aracaris and Chocó Toucans. With an expert local guide, you'll explore this natural wilderness, spotting the hundreds of bird species who call these trees their home, including 35 of which are endemic. The highlight of the day will undoubtedly be white water tubing the down the Rio Mundo, potentially spotting Capuchin monkeys, hummingbirds, toucans and spectacle bears as you race down the river. For a more relaxed afternoon, you can head along one of the manty trails and relax in the soothing waterfall baths.

Day 9
Road transfer from Cloud Forest to Quito

It's your final morning in the cloud forest; before heading back to Quito, be sure to wake up early - shortly before sunrise - as this is the optimal time to spot the native wildlife. After a final breakfast, you'll be taken by private car transfer back to Quito for another night at La Casona de La Ronda.

Day 10
Fly from Quito to San Cristobal

The next morning, you're excited to be finally heading off to the Galapagos Islands! After being taken to the airport, you'l board a short flight from Quito to San Cristobal via Guayaquil where you'll meet your guide and fellow cruise passengers. Once you've boarded and settled into the vessel - your home for the next four nights - you'll then spend the afternoon visiting an interpretation centre where you will see a series of interactive exhibits providing information about what to expect over the next four days.

Day 10
4 nights stay aboard Seaman Journey

A first class boutique catamaran, Seaman Journey offers you luxury in the Galapagos, its spacious interiors and stylish design providing you with all the comfort that you will need as you explore these unique islands. With a sun deck, living area, social area, resting area and dining area, plus twin and double rooms, you'll be able to sit back and soak up the views at the end of an invigorating day.

Day 10-14
The Galapagos Islands

A volcanic archipelago located in the Pacific Ocean, the Galapagos Islands provide some of the best wildlife-viewing opportunities in the world; indeed, it was Charles Darwin's visit here which inspired him to develop his Theory of Evolution.

Aboard the Seaman Journey, you'll cruise these unique habitats in style; with your local naturalist guides, you'll learn more about the islands and the wildlife here, exploring the islands on foot, by panga (dingy) and kayaks. As well as this, snorkelling will immerse you in the mesmerising world beneath the waves, the crystal-clear water perfect for spotting Galapagos penguins, seals and sharks. You'll particularly relish exploring the ancient lava fields on foot where prehistoric reptiles room - it will really feel like you've stepped back in time!

Day 15
Fly from Galapagos Islands to Guayaquil

Your experience in the Galapagos Islands has been out of this world, and you're now heading back to mainland Ecuador for one final night, staying in the port city of Guayaquil. Once you've landed, you'll be met by your private driver who will swiftly take you to your last hotel: Hotel Oro Verde.

Day 15
1 nights stay at Hotel Oro Verde

Hotel Oro Verde Guayaquil is your modern and stylish sanctuary in Guayaquil; situated in the entertainment part of the city, this luxury hotel features 5 on-site restaurants and bars, an outdoor pool and hot tub, and a state-of-the-art fitness centre and spa. As well as this, the hotel also has its own on-site shopping, perfect for purchasing some final Ecuadorian crafts before you head back home.

Day 15-16

Guayaquil is the largest city in Ecuador, known as a gateway to the Galapagos Islands and gorgeous Pacific beaches.

Characterised by its brightly-coloured buildings, its bustling port and thriving commercial hub, you can spend the afternoon strolling through the picturesque barrio of Las Peñas, which perches over the river; this is a great opportunity to purchase those last-minute souvenirs and, of course, the famous Panama Hat which originated in Ecuador - not actually Panama!

Day 16
Fly from Guayaquil to UK

Your holiday has sadly come to an end! Once you've been taken to the airport by private car transfer and have boarded your overnight flight home via Madrid, you'll bid farewell to Ecuador and your epic wildlife adventure as you settle down and think back to the incredible time you had. Wherever you decide to go next, get in touch with your Luxury Travel Specialist who will begin to organise your next adventure.
