If you seek paradise-like views of picture-perfect sandy beaches and bright turquoise waters, then look no further than the tiny tropical island of Koh Samui.

It may be known for being a top tourist destination in Thailand, but Koh Samui still manages to offer a slice of the secluded, tropical paradise we’ve come to associate with Thailand. All of the hotels and building are no taller than a palm tree, and Koh Samui’s  main produce is coconuts (which means there’s load of palms on the island), both helping Koh Samui retain that postcard-perfect exotic ambience and look.

If it’s family adventure you seek, you can spend your days hopping to nearby islands for snorkelling and scuba diving, heading up hill to discover the giant golden Buddha that can be seen across most of the island, and letting loose at Chaweng’s popular and fun beachfrontwhen the sun goes down. There’s something for every traveller who chooses a holiday in Koh Samui, and this great destination perfectly compliments a bustling city break in Bangkok or a cultural adventure in Chiang Mai.
