Along Bali’s Bukit peninsula sits Uluwatu, one of the island’s most beautiful temples and a quiet area that surrounds it.

Uluwatu Temple is a must-see temple that’s perched along the edge of a limestone cliff overlooking the Indian Ocean and offering spectacular views that could rival any other destination in Bali. Uluwatu is also home to a select collection of some of the most beautiful luxury and boutique hotels in Bali, all of which make excellent use of the secluded and romantic destination, as well as the mesmerising views.

The hidden beaches at the bottom of the limestone cliffs are perfect for honeymooners who seek sun and exclusivity, while the rolling waves are excellent for surfers and those looking for a fun-filled Bali holiday. The area is also home to some of the finest restaurants on the island, upscale nightlife and even some great shopping destinations.

ITINERARY

Bali's glittering turquoise waters and sugar-white, sandy beaches make for an irresistible holiday destination, particularly for those looking to escape reality and enter the realms of their dreams. It really is a paradise straight from the pages of a glossy magazine!

  • For a dreamy 12 day Bali itinerary we recommend spending four days exploring the wondrous hills of Ubud with their luscious emerald rice terraces and cascading waterfalls, a truly dreamy image. Discover hidden temples within the forests and visit provincial villages to see how the locals live and absorb the culture of this fertile city.
  • When you've had all the fresh forest air that you can handle, head to the golden coasts of Seminyak, Uluwatu and Nusa Dua for four days of surfing and water adventures. Indulge in a shopping spree in Seminyak's exclusive boutiques and bring home unique trinkets, and chill on the exclusive beaches at the foot of Uluwatu's cliffs to soak up the sun's rays and work on that tan. Water Blow lookout is a must visit in Nusa Dua for panoramic views of the Indian Ocean as it sparkles in the Bali sunlight - this photogenic rock is a romantic and dynamic location, with its crashing waves and secluded atmosphere.
  • Spend your final four days hopping between the dazzling Gili Islands and Lombok, snapping plenty of pictures to create some Instagram envy! The Gili Islands are the perfect place for an island hopping experience, and offer a fantastic blend of tranquil beaches and buzzing nightlife. Lombok is a tropical haven, discover the adorable monkeys in the Pusak Monkey Forest and stroll on pristine white sands.

Things to do in
The bali
Uluwatu Beach Cave and Temple

Uluwatu’s dramatic coastline of rugged cliff faces and untouched beaches provide the perfect backdrop for a romantic hideaway, but Uluwatu is also home to two incredible must-see worthy sights.

Perched along the edge of a cliff soaring 70 meters above the endless topaz waters sits Uluwatu Temple, a picture-perfect Bali temple that is surprisingly home to a family of cheeky macaques. Head to the bottom of the cliff and you’ll find a network of astounding caves full of shallow waters and pristine sands that will make you feel as if you’ve just entered a film set.

Nasi Goreng

You may have visited Bali’s incredible temples and practiced your sun salute overlooking the endless ocean, but a visit to Bali is not over until you’ve tried the food.

Bali is a foodie’s paradise, and there’s so many incredible dishes to try, but a true Balinese staple is Nasi Goreng. This comforting fried rice dish can be enjoyed for breakfast, lunch and dinner, with chicken, prawns, beef, spring onions, anything! It always comes with a fried egg on top and it's always delicious, whether you enjoy it in a 5-star restaurant or a food stall in a night market.

Yoga

It’s almost impossible to separate Bali from it’s wellbeing-focused culture, and yoga plays such a huge part of the spirituality that makes this destination so special.

Whether you’re a self-confessed yogi or you’ll be hitting the mat for the first time, a visit to Bali is simply incomplete without at least one yoga class, but you’ll definitely be hooked after that first venture. Ubud’s gorgeous leafy interiors and Uluwatu’s pristine coastlines provide the perfect backdrop for a sunrise yoga session or an evening meditation session under the stars, book a class to see why it’s better in Bali.

Surfing

Whether you love surfing or are hoping to hop onto a board for the first time, Uluwatu is a great place to hit the waves.

Uluwatu’s stylish shores are known for not only their golden sands, but also for the constant rolling waves that make it a great destination for water sports such as surfing. For the best places to catch a wave, have a look into visiting Padang Padang Beach, Suluban Beach and Balangan Beach!

Soaking Up The Sun

It’s not all about surfing in Uluwatu though, if you’re looking for the perfect place to soak up the sun, watch the world float by and maybe even go for a swim, there’s still some great beaches to choose from.

Pandawa Beach is Bali’s most southern beach, and boasts a kilometre of white sand and waters that are little bit calmer than that of the more popular beaches, making it a much better destination for swimming and gentle water sports. Another great option is Dreamland Beach, which promises bright blue waters and plenty of enough golden sands for everyone!
