Known as the "land of the original safari", Kenya offers some of the best game viewing opportunities in Africa, its vast savannahs home to an extraordinary wealth of wildlife.

With its extensive collection of game reserves, Kenya is one of Africa's most popular wildlife destinations; for a luxury safari holiday, the legendary Masai Mara National Reserve offers unrivalled opportunities to witness Africa's "big five" and the great migration of the wildebeest. Laikipia in the east provides a different view of Kenya, its rolling green hills and dense woodlands home to wildlife including giraffes, elephants, cheetahs, lions, zebras, and white and black rhinos. The fewer visitors here mean that travellers can experience intimate and exclusive game drives in secluded locations across the region. Amboseli National Park is an excellent choice for those seeking a short yet dynamic Kenya holiday, famed for offering the finest views of Mount Kilimanjaro and for hosting the country's largest herds of elephants.

Characterised by white-sand beaches and turquoise waters, Kenya's coastline is ideal for luxury beach holidays. Diani Beach is an outstanding snorkelling and scuba diving location - one of the best in Africa - with shallow seas and coral reefs that are home to a variety of tropical marine species.

Our Top Kenya Experiences:

  • Visit a traditional Masai tribe village in the Masai Mara and learn more about their unique way of life.
  • Experience a hot air balloon safari and watch the great wildebeest migration from above.
  • Visit the Lewa Wildlife Conservancy, a UNESCO World Heritage Site recognised for outstanding conservation efforts, home to 12% of Kenya's black and white rhino populations.
  • Venture into the Ngare Ndare Forest Park situated at the foothills of Mount Kenya and populated with cascading waterfalls and azure natural pools.

Things to do in
Kenya
Sunrise And Sunset Safaris

A trip to Kenya is incomplete without at least one exhilarating game safari that gets you up close and personal with the country’s astounding wildlife.

Set your alarm just shy of the sun rising above the Masai Mara and you’ll get a chance to witness the warthogs drinking from the waterholes, and lions yawning as they shake themselves awake on exhilarating sunrise safaris. Hop in a jeep for a night safari and you’ll get to see the Big Five as they starting unwinding, as well as a glimpse of the wildlife that come out after dark.

Visit a Masai Village

Learn about the native tribes who call the Kenya's endless plains their home with a visit the one of many Masai Villages in the Mara.

A Masai Village trip is truly unforgettable and you’ll learn so much about the daily lives of the indigenous tribes people and how they have adapted to living on the plains. Pick up an authentic Masai ‘shuka’ shawl or a beaded necklace to commemorate the event, or simply spend your time interacting with the local people and sharing each other’s ways of life, you may even get to see them perform a traditional dance.

Camp Under The Stars

We offer an incredible range of 5-star luxury camps that put you in the heart of the fabled Masai Mara, but those looking for a truly unforgettable experience can enjoy a sleep-out with a bed quite literally under the stars.

Be lulled to sleep by the contented rumbling and low snores of the distant elephants, and pick out the constellations in the stars from the comfort of a luxurious outdoor tent or king-sized bed. This once-in-a-lifetime experience in Kenya will delight romantics and the wild at heart.

Hot Air Balloon Journeys

See the Mara’s mottled grassy plains and the wildlife that roam it from an entirely new perspective with a hot air balloon adventure across Kenya’s incredible Masai Mara.

There’s little more exciting than getting up close and personal with the Big Five on a thrilling jeep-led safari, but a hot air balloon journey offers a completely unique and romantic perspective of the spotted, endless plains. Clink glasses as you spot zebras and wildebeests moving in hordes across the Mara and view the landscape from a completely new vantage point.

Guided Nature Walks

Admittedly the thrill of catching a glimpse of the Big Five on a game drive is what draws so many to mottled plains of the Masai Mara, but the guided nature walks that the camps offer are always a fun, educational and more relaxing alternative.

Set aside one of your mid-mornings or early afternoons for a guided nature walk and you'll discover so much more that Kenya has to offer. Not only will you get an even closer look at the Mara's incredible landscape, but you'll also get to see the smaller ecosystems that call this fabled destination home.

Bush Breakfasts

You can spend your days however you see fit while you enjoy your stay in Kenya, and we think the best way to reward an early start after a thrilling game drive is with a luxurious bush breakfast.

Bush breakfasts are often enjoyed straight after a game safari, and the camp's dedicated staff set up a lavish banquet in the heart of the safari complete with incredible dishes and maybe even a glass of champagne! Another great way to start the day is with an al fresco breakfast at the camp overlooking the animals drinking from the nearby waterholes!

Sundowners

What could be better than ending an incredible day in Kenya with a glass of wine and delectable dishes as you take in the absolutely mesmerising African sunset?

There's no better way to reflect on the days events and welcome the evening than with some fantastic sundowners. Whether you spend the evening gathered around a romantic roaring fire pit, laughing with others over stories past, or watching an exciting Masai dance performance; every evening is guaranteed to be unforgettable in the Mara.

Light Aircraft or Helicopter Rides

A popular way to view the Mara is from a hot air balloon as it cruises above the plains of Kenya, but those who want to go one step better and create truly unforgettable memories can opt for a light aircraft or helicopter journey across the savannah.

See the Masai Mara from a bird-eye vantage point and you'll gain a whole new perspective on this fabled region. Opt for the light aircraft journey and you'll experience what it was like to be one of the legendary explorers who discovered these mesmerising lands, while a helicopter ride is perfect for romantic couples who dare to be different.
